HAS THE RAIN STOPPED.......
Is it safe to start seeding your food plot? Here are some keys to a successful Food Plot:
- Site Selection: Because deer prefer to eat in areas close to cover, plant your food plot in an area that borders or is as close to cover as possible
- Size: Minimum, where possible, a food plot should be at least 1/4 acre in size to help reduce pressure from overgrazing
- Number: Plant at least 2% - 5% of your property in food plots. Many serious deer and land managers plant up to 10% or more of their property in food plots
- Shape: Plots should be more long and narrow then square and wide. Try to leave uneven, irregular edges. Also consider leaving strips of clover across larger, more open areas
- Soil Test: I know we have stressed this before but if at all possible perform a soil pH test on your plot and try to do it in several different areas if you have multiply plots.
- Planting Direction: Be sure to read our labels for planting instruction and if you are unsure just give us a call we will give you as much assistance as need to ensure a successful food plot using Rough Ridge seeds.
Now is the time to plant our Clover Buffet or Buck Fest. Visit our Website for your local dealer or order online
